A Demon’s Game- A Paranormal Fantasy: A Maliciously Wicked Short Story.
by S.M. Nevermore
This story was quite a whirlwind, a fun little bite-sized adventure that definitely left me wanting more. I thoroughly enjoyed the expressive and charming writing style that made me smile more than once. My only complaint is: I wish it was longer!
A fast and fun read.
A short story. Literally.
I’ve never been an anime fan (I know, I’m so sorry) but even I loved this cover. There is something very striking about the demon’s outline against a black background and it made this book cover so eye catching.
I wanted more.
I didn’t feel like the story world or characters were too lacking in any way and I really think there was the start of something great here, I just wish that this short story had been a bit less short. Maybe, I just haven’t read enough short stories yet, but I felt like there could have been more of a story arc here. This felt, to me, almost like the opening chapter of a novel, and left me wanting so much more. Now, I have to read the second one because I’m intrigued…
In my opinion, this short story read a lot like fan fiction and you know what? I love fan fiction. The voice within the text was so free and expressive, making the whole read fast, fun, and light.
Short stories are really starting to grow on me. It’s a quick and easy way to continue doing something I love, without feeling the stress or commitment of trying to undertake a massive novel or series. This story was a perfect example of why I love short little tales, it was a fast and fun read. I got pulled into the story immediately and was quite entertained from beginning to end.
The last word
Fun, amusing, and certainly an enjoyable read.
It’s a short, entertaining story, why not give it a try…
