The Last Place on Earth
by Carol Snow
A collection of twists that weave together to form a story where predicting what will happen next is a tremendous feat. With a cast of characters propelling the story forward with every breath, this is a devour-in-one-sitting kind of book. The ending is quite an optimistic one that restored my confidence in humanity (Is that a spoiler? I don’t think so). A nice easy read.
I did not see that coming.

A twist that changes everything.
Thoughts
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Nice cover with a cool font.
THE BAD
This story was not what I expected (as I’ve said), so when I picked it to read, I was in the mood for one kind of story and got another. Overall, I thought the pacing was good but about 3/4 of the way through things began to drag just a little before they picked up again.
THE GOOD
About of a quarter of the way through this novel, a major twist came into play and everything changed. I mean EVERYTHING. I never saw it coming but the way it wove everything together made perfect sense. It was a refreshing take on the story I expected to read.
The pacing of this novel is great and I enjoyed watching the characters evolve as everything around them became unraveled. Daisy wasted no time waiting for the mystery of Henry’s disappearance to unravel and immediately took matters into her own hands. I appreciated her spirit and the way characters drove the story, instead of it driving them.
There’s so much more I want to say but NO SPOILERS so I guess you’ll just have to read it and then maybe you’ll know what I’m thinking. All I can say is I appreciate the ending. Very uplifting.
THE LAST WORD
Okay, totally not what I thought it was going to be…
I picked up this book expecting some sort of mystery adventure and got something else entirely. It was great. The twists in this book are so subtle and unexpected that you just can’t even imagine the way it all comes together. The ending left me feeling optimistic and satisfied even if it was a little quick.
Very unexpected, but good…
